After spending over a decade as a competitive swim coach I left the profession to raise my small children. Once my children entered grade school I decided to pursue an Associates of Applied Science in Visual Communications from Ivy Tech Community College, Southern Indiana. I truly enjoy the process of creating new designs and solving design related problems. I like to use the world around me for inspiration, often turning to architecture, textiles, and nature. 

During my years of coaching I displayed my strong leadership skills, determination, patience, and ability to work with all ages and personalities. While attending Ivy Tech, these qualities along with my strong performance and understanding of the subject resulted in my being recruited by head of the Visual Communications Department to become the first tutor for the department at Ivy Tech Sellersburg. Upon graduation I was asked to stay on as the program tutor. In pursuing  a career in Graphic Design I would like to incorporate my experience and passion in design, textiles and architecture in order to accomplish successful projects.
